Celebrating the 2019 Pup Crawl with Pet Pal Animal Shelter
Hosted by our friends at the St. Petersburg Pet Pal Animal Shelter, we were lucky enough to be invited to be a part of the 2019 Pup Crawl in the Grand Central District of Downtown St. Petersburg this past Saturday! All proceeds went to raising funds for this very gracious and caring organization.
At this event you'll not only get to see heaps of happy and healthy dogs and their owners but you can indulge in the delicious variety of craft beer flavors concocted in the unique bars of St. Pete. Participants and their pet pals journeyed to five locations each boasting tangy mango wheat IPAs, syrupy chocolate stouts, crisp refreshing lagers and more. Of course there were plenty of water bowls around for our pets, too.
We were gifted a beautiful blue-sky day and were able to meet and greet a ton of special people and their dog children. Not only could you drift around with your dog, beer in hand, but multiple local vendors were there to support the cause, including us! We loaded you up with a surplus of healthy, quality treats and food.
We like to join in on our community fundraisers, especially if it's in support of our fellow furry friends. Set up at our booth you could find an abundance of goodies that day. From samples of our SMACK raw dehydrated pet food with flavors like Caribbean Salmon and Very Berry Chicken, bully sticks with flavor options like venison, bison, and beef, to dried chicken tenders and nibbles. We topped it off with a Spin-The-Wheel competition where you could score a professional photo shoot with your pet, treat bags, or their pet could try the SMACK DOWN challenge.
What is the SMACK DOWN challenge? We gave our visiting pets the opportunity to test out whether their dog was a bigger fan of traditional dry kibble, or SMACK dehydrated raw dog food. Their owners brought the over to our station where they could run down a stretch of green grass and stick their nose right in the best, most yummy smelling and tasting food to them. Although we had a few dogs take a bite out of both, most of our contestants delve into that bowl of SMACK and wound up taking home a package of it for themselves.
